Operation Christmas Child, 2011.

If you have been subscribing to my blog for any length of time, you probably know that I am a big supporter and proponent of the Operation Christmas Child ministry of Samaritan's Purse. Over 8 million shoe boxes were delivered in 2010 to desperate children around the world, each box containing the Gospel message in the child's native language. Local churches partner with the Operation Christmas Child shoebox delivery, offering further discipleship classes to children who accept the Lord after receiving a shoe box.

Two Christmases ago, I watched the above video of how Claire from Mummy Deals packed 45 shoe boxes for $45! It continues to inspire me to stretch my dollar so that I can bless children around the world with small treasures, but even more, with the gift of Jesus Christ.

This year, my goal is to pack 10 shoe boxes for under $10. It's not too late to start getting items for free/nearly free if you'd like to join me and the many others who participate in this ministry.

  2. Thanks, Leah! I try to include a stuffed animal of some sort in each shoe box!
