31 Days of Less and More: Less Self-Centeredness, More Service.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13

This world is full of self-centered, self-promoting, self-loving people. To put others first, in the mundane every day moments, is to show God's love. To drive kindly, speak gently, smile sincerely, help wholeheartedly, give freely, sacrifice greatly, and lose courteously, these are the actions of a Christ follower that stand in stark contrast to the me-culture and the humanity we have at hand.
