Apple Time! Dairy-, Egg-, Nut-Free Apple Crisp.

My in-laws have a wonderful neighbor who lets us pick apples and plums from her fruit tree! Well let's just say that we have plenty! I am not baking up everything apple, which I love to do anyways this time of year. First off, an allergy-free, delicious apple crisp (recipe from Better Homes & Gardens that was given to my by my friend Tanya):

Dairy-, Egg-, Nut-Free Apple Crisp

1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
9 cups sliced peeled apples
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup melted dairy-free margarine

  1. In a large bowl combine sugar, 1 Tbsp. flour, cinnamon, and salt.  Add apples and toss gently to coat.  Spread apples in a 13x9 baking dish.
  2. In a bowl combine 1 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.  Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.  Drizzle melted butter over all.
  3. Bake uncovered in a 375 degree oven for 35 minutes or until bubbly and apples are tender.
Serves 8.
