What I have found so far... Current Collection Sites for Hurricane Irene Relief!


It's always a bit difficult after a major natural disaster to find out ways to help, as it understandably takes time for those in the affected areas to organize and locate needs, and then, put together collection sites for donations from around the country.  Now that several days have passed since Hurricane Irene caused massive flooding across the Northeast, the needs and donation sites are becoming more clear and numerous.

If you would love to donate some essential items, but don't know where to send them, here are valid donation sites currently asking for supplies:

accepting: Donations of care packages of such products that will be delivered directly to the people inneed.

accepting: Canned Food and Non Perishable Food Items, New or clean, used, sorted Seasonal SummerClothing and Shoes, Bottled Water, Laundry Detergent, Hygiene Items (i.e. soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, Toilet paper etc.), New Unopened packages of socks/underwear, Coolers, Blankets, Bedding, Trash Bags, Cleaning Supplies, Gloves, Canned Goods Or Non-Perishable Boxed Foods, Infant supplies (formula, baby food, diapers, baby wipes), Packaged snack items (granola bars, pretzels, cookies, snack cakes, etc.), Small toys (stuffed animals, dolls, chalk, bubbles, cars, coloring books, crayons, puzzles etc.)

Also, if you would like to give monetarily, consider the Salvation Army or the American Red Cross (blood donors are also needed).
