Would you like a mind-boggling thought for today? This is quite a nugget to chew on... Well, here it is out of Jeremiah:
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew (or chose) you, before you were born I set you apart." Jeremiah 1:5a
This verse is specifically referring to God's calling of Jeremiah as a prophet, but also implies to every child of God, in the fact that we were known and chosen by our God before we even existed, before the foundations of the world.
We see this same amazing truth in Ephesians 1:4, "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight."As well as in 1 Peter 1:20 regarding the Son of Man, "He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake."
I hope you feel loved, humbled, and comforted by knowing that you were known and chosen before you were even made. Praise be to God.
