Proud of her finished heart Play-doh shape. |
We are studying shapes this week in our home school preschool! Anna has had a lot of fun making a shape book, where she searches through a magazine, scissors in hand, trying to find a specific shape. Then, she pastes the shapes on their correct page and by the end of the week, we'll have a book with 8 different shapes: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, oval, crescent, heart, and star. We also had fun today playing with play-doh, creating shapes on play-doh mats.
Of course, we continue to learn our letters and sounds, numbers 1-20, calendar, days of the week, patterns, and many other fun skills. Anna does very well with one-on-one schooling and I really enjoy not having to leave the house on these cold, snowy mornings. I have had a scratchy throat for a week now, and consequently, I've consumed way more coffee than normal to alleviate it!
I got the Shapes play-doh mats and coloring pages for free at 3 Dinosaurs. The magazine that Anna cut up was one I received for free in the mail.
