Pantene Beautiful Lengths: I Chopped My Hair!

I can't believe I did this, but I chopped my own hair! I've been growing my hair for over a year now and really liked having it long. It got to such a length that I figured I might as well keep growing it.  As a cancer survivor who thankfully did not have to go through chemotherapy and could proudly keep and wear my long hair, I began to have a desire to donate my long locks.

After doing some research, I chose to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program specifically for hair donation to make wigs for cancer patients. Men and women both can grow their hair out to at least 8 inches in length for donation. According to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths site:

As Pantene Beautiful Lengths wigs are created, they are distributed for free through select American Cancer Society wig banks across the country. Women facing cancer can find out about the availability of a Pantene Beautiful Lengths wig by calling the American Cancer Society at 1-877-227-1596.

There are several other options available for hair donation, including Locks of Love, Hugs U Wear (Child Leukemia Foundation), and Looks Like Me. Hair length requirements vary by organization.

As a side note, I am headed to the salon in an hour to even out my chopped hair!
