I think that Wizard of Oz addage remains true in my heart, especially this time of year, "There's no place like home." And there isn't. After moving around a lot of the country, I remain convinced that the rolling hills of Broome County and the surrounding areas are the prettiest place to be come Fall. I took these pictures last September while home for a weekend. The colors were already brilliant.
I try to go home sometime during the Fall each year and I'm flying out this afternoon with my baby girl to spend a week in New York! It sounds like this year's foliage has been delayed and less glorious, partially due to the extensive flooding. But that's okay with me... I cannot wait to just be there.
And another reason I love New York, I have some crazy, dear people there that I call family. And it has been a long 9 months since I last saw many of them.
OOO......enjoy some spiedis!!
