My $2.84 Money Maker @ Walgreens!

Yippee for free Coffee Mate!  Coffee is a favorite in our household, so when I can get free or nearly free coffee supplies, I'm quite ecstatic (and lately there have been some great deals)!  Thankfully, Walgreens was well stocked today and I was able to pick up 6 Coffee Mates for free.

This transaction is a good example of how to jump back into playing the Drugstore Game at a given chain, as I did not have any Register Rewards to start off with. So how did I make $2.84 on the above items?  I began with purchasing the Blistex by itself. This cost $2.59, but gave me $2.60 back in Register Rewards. Then, I took the $2.60 and applied it to my second transaction. The Nivea Men's Body Wash, Ricolas, and Coffee Mate were free after coupons; the three cans of Campbell's soup were $.29 each after an in-ad coupon and a manufacturer coupon; the Bufferin aspirin was $5.99 and I had a $3/1 manufacturer coupon. The cash register took off the full price for the Coffee Mate coupons and Nivea B.W. coupon, giving me a surplus, which I had assumed the Walgreen's registers would not allow. However, before my last $1.50 coupon went through, the register said I owed $1.33 and the manager ended up manually putting it through. So long story short, I ended up paying nothing for the second transaction! I definitely recommend bringing the Walgreens' coupon policy with you, especially for trickier transactions; I had to whip it out today.

The 8x10 photo collage of my little fall pumpkin was absolutely free.

Now, what made this a great moneymaker is that I have a mail-in rebate for the Bufferin, which will give me $2.99 back.  Deducting the tax from my first transaction, I will have made $2.84 after my rebate!
